This blog is written and maintained by April.
We are soul mates.
April and Thomas are both artists. April is a photographer, has recently graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice, and is continuing with a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology. She also volunteers her time as a certified volunteer for CASA Placer as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused and neglected children and for Sacramento Tree Foundation. April has always pursued her artistic talent with a camera as a photographer. Her web site portfolio launched earlier this year and she spent her last three breaks in school building a web site for Thomas. She felt he should have a web site dedicated to his artwork to display and sell his creations. April also took the time to create their family web site, a site both April and Thomas started as a wedding web site and turned it into a family dedicated web site that will grow with them and not just end after their wedding.
Thomas on the other hand, works every day as an artist full time in a tattoo shop. When Thomas is not tattooing he spends his time drawing, painting, or one of the numerous other projects he finds or creates for pleasure or as a commissioned artist. Both April and Thomas have turned one of their bedrooms in to an art room/library. Their art room is lined with bookshelves filled with books and drawers filled with art supplies for the whole family to use and create unique pieces of art. Most of the artwork Thomas creates is digital using his tablet pc and Autodesk Sketchbook Pro until recently when he was invited to display his artwork at an art exhibit alongside his friends. Thomas has been painting more than drawing for now.
Both April and Thomas have one child each, Zoe and Tommi. Zoe is April’s daughter, she is twelve years old, she is an artist and she is learning about photography from her mother. Zoe also plays soccer and softball; she enjoys team sports and volunteering her time with Sacramento Tree Foundation. Tommi is the daughter of Thomas, she is five years old, she is an artist, and she is currently learning how to read. She already knows and writes the alphabet in both upper and lower case letters. Both girls are creative and are encouraged by their parents to be creative in all of their projects. Both Zoe and Tommi are excited to have someone to call a sister and enjoy making a mess in the room they share as they play with Tommi’s toys. Their age gap does not hinder their imagination when it comes to playing together, art, and movies.
As a family they love to snowboard, play in the snow, cook, bake, paint, draw, write, sculpt, hike, travel, garden, listen to music, explore nature, watch movies, build tents out of pillows and blankets, go to the park, shopping, daydreaming, color, photography, snuggle up to a good book, and do summersaults.

Aww, love this. Amanda is my soul mate & it’s nice to read about other people who share that experience. PS I really appreciate your supportive comment on my “Even I Pretend I don’t Have a Girlfriend” blog post. It can get to feel awfully lonely living in a very conservative, very republican state, so it’s soooo affirming to get support from the worldwide online community. Thx & remember to speak up for us LGBT’s when life hands you the opportunity to!
